No freaking way! Stine told me that there would be no Goosebumps movie, but could it be all a fib? Keep me posted with more movie news, please!

Aah...

Well, I don't think it's a "lie", not at all. - Cause it is confirmed that they're working on it, R.L. Stine himself said so too; it's just taking a little longer than we might had expected.

Of course there's A LOT of work that goes into making a movie like this; they have to find (screen-)writers, they have to choose which/what Goosebumps-book(s) they're going to use for the movie, they have to figure out hów they're going to do it; because it's of course impossible to turn a Goosebumps book from 130 pages, into a full 90 min. movie, they have to find producers, a good director who's suitable for the job, a movie-company that is willing to pay for the film than they have to look for which actors to use.... etc. etc.

The project may be on hold for while, you never know...

It's not like they can do this; 1, 2, 3.

I realize that these things take time, especially when it comes to the movie industry. I have all the patience in the world to wait for the movie. But then there's always the books that I will always look forward to reading. And it doesn't take long for them to get produced. Especially since we have a masterminded storyteller. At least Stine already has a new TV show on the air (The Haunting Hour) that will be around for several seasons. I think it may be more successful than the Goosebumps TV show was. What do you think?

Maybe... I don't know.

Now, present day, there are a lot more new kids that were born in the previous (10/15) years, that live on this planet and watch TV than back in the 90's. ;) - That's definitely a factor you should count in.

Than, with the help of social media (Facebook, Twitter) the word gets easier spread about The Haunting Hour TV-shows, and there are many, MANY more people who's attention is drawn to it, through the use Internet, because, of course, that was also something that wasn't so "big" (to say it simple) as it is today.

But on the other hand; with the Goosebumps TV-shows, you had the hype of the immensely and hugely popular books that they were related to; now, with THH, it's not; it's only the TV-shows. (And the two short-story collections they're loosely based on, but that's of course nothing in comparison to over a 100 Goosebumps books.)

Looks like it's actually going to happen this time. The producers are looking for a director for the movie: http://www.deadline.com/2013/03/sony-pi ... ht-novels/

They're definitely making it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1051904/

Jack Black though? I really hope they don't add in too much humor in the movie.

I know! :D  So ecxcited!

I also thought Jack Black was kind of weird casting choice to play R.L. himself, when first read about it.

And I agree; definitely not too much humor. A bit of is okay of course, because there's also always some huor mor in the goo Ggoose Goosebumps books. But that they won'nt overdo it, only because Black is in it.
